To apply for Twitch Partner you need 6 streams on 6 unique days averaging 75 or more viewers in the last 30 days, plus another 6 such streams in the 30 days before that. Your channel must have no Terms of Service suspension in the last 60 days and recent VODs published. Meeting the bar unlocks the application; acceptance is not guaranteed.

What are the Twitch Partner requirements in 2026?

Twitch splits this into two layers. The Path to Partner achievement in your Creator Dashboard decides whether the Apply button appears. The Partnerships team then reviews the channel against a wider set of expectations. Both are described on Twitch's Tips for Applying to the Partner Program page.

Path to Partner needs two consecutive months of qualifying streams, not one good month.

In total that is 12 qualifying streams across two consecutive months. Streams below 75 average viewers do not count toward progress, but they also do not count against you.

Is it still 25 hours, 12 days and 75 viewers?

No. Older guides describe the Path to Partner as 25 hours streamed on 12 different days with 75 average viewers in a month. Twitch's current Achievements guide lists the requirement as 6 streams on 6 unique days averaging 75 viewers in the last 30 days, and 6 more in days 30 to 60.

Two things changed. First, hours no longer appear as a separate target, so a long stream does not help you unless its average holds at 75. Second, you now need two strong months in a row rather than one. A channel that had a single breakout month and then dipped will not see the Apply button.

The total day count is the same, 12, but every one of those days now has to clear the viewer bar on its own. If your channel averages 60 viewers with occasional spikes to 120, you may have enough qualifying streams one month and fall short the next. That is usually why people who "hit 75 average" still cannot apply.

How does Twitch count the 75 average viewers?

The number is the average concurrent viewers per stream, as shown in Channel Analytics. Twitch attaches several conditions to it.

  • Front-page promotion does not count. If a homepage carousel feature pushed your average over 75, those viewers are excluded, and Twitch says an application inflated that way will not be accepted.
  • Embeds do not count. Views from your stream embedded on other websites are excluded from the viewership calculation.
  • Consistency beats peaks. Twitch's own guidance says a channel that reliably draws 70 to 80 viewers is more likely to be invited than one swinging between 20 and 200.
  • Engagement is checked. Reviewers look for signs that viewers interact with the channel, not only that they are present.

To check yourself, open Channel Analytics, set the range to the last 30 days, and count streams with 75+ average viewers. Then shift the range to days 30 to 60 and do it again. The Discovery tab shows where viewers outside Twitch come from, which helps if you suspect embed traffic.

How do you apply for Twitch Partner?

Once Path to Partner is complete, an Apply button unlocks on the achievement. From there it is short.

  1. Run the self-check. Confirm 6 qualifying streams in each of the last two 30-day periods, published VODs, and no suspension in 60 days.
  2. Submit the form from your dashboard. The Partner application includes an optional write-in field.
  3. Keep the write-in short. Twitch recommends 200 words or less. Use it to explain context, such as a schedule gap, rather than to pitch yourself.
  4. Wait for the email. Review typically takes up to 2 weeks and can run longer when application volume is high.

Twitch says the day of the week does not matter, and labelling yourself as a gaming or variety streamer does not change how the application is reviewed.

If you are rejected, the email includes context on what fell short. A denial does not hurt future applications, so you can reapply once the numbers support it.

Can you become a Twitch Partner without meeting the criteria?

Sometimes. The Partner Program Overview states that Twitch may accept applications outside the standard criteria in cases of exceptional viewership growth or an established audience on another platform. Twitch describes these as rare.

So a creator who already draws large live or video audiences elsewhere may be considered before hitting 12 qualifying Twitch streams. That does not mean an established audience replaces the review. Suspension history, content and engagement still matter, and applying still does not guarantee acceptance.

If you are moving an existing audience to Twitch, make sure your off-platform numbers are visible and verifiable, then build a regular Twitch schedule quickly so the reviewers see consistency on Twitch itself. Twitch Partner vs Affiliate: what do you actually get?

The two tiers overlap more than most people expect. Both Affiliates and Partners earn from subs, Bits and ads, both are paid Net-15, and both can join the Plus Program. The differences are mostly fees, tools and support. The comparison below comes from Twitch's About Monetization page.

Partners also get two lifetime subs for their chatbot, up to three more for friends and family as sub counts grow, one assisted username change and one revert, regional Partner Discord servers, and consideration for opportunities such as Partner Spotlights, Partner Panels and Streamer Zones. A dedicated Partner Manager is invitation-only and depends on channel size, language and region.

What is Twitch Partner Plus, and is it only for Partners?

Partner Plus is now simply called the Plus Program, and it is open to both Affiliates and Partners. It is the only route to a better subscription split for most creators. The Plus Program page lays out the rules.

LevelQualifying barNet sub revenue share
Level 1100+ Plus Points for 3 consecutive months60/40
Level 2300+ Plus Points for 3 consecutive months70/30

Plus Points come only from paid recurring subscriptions: Tier 1 is 1 point, Tier 2 is 2, Tier 3 is 6. Gift subs and Prime subs do not earn points. Once you qualify, the higher rate applies to recurring and gift sub revenue, but not Prime subs. The rate lasts at least 12 months, and every new qualifying month resets that clock.

You must have adopted the Monetized Streamer Agreement before the months you want to count. Streamers based in listed Latin American countries have separate qualification criteria shown in their dashboard. Our sub revenue share guide works through what these splits mean per sub.

Is Twitch Partner worth chasing?

Be clear about what Partner changes. It does not change the base economics of a sub, a Bit or an ad in a big way. It removes payout fees, gives you better video and support tools, and adds status signals such as the verified badge. Revenue still scales with your audience, and the Plus Program is available to Affiliates too.

The 75-viewer bar is also a real filter. Twelve streams in two months, each holding 75 concurrent viewers, typically reflects a channel with a loyal core audience and a fixed schedule. That usually takes time to build.

Treat Partner as a byproduct of the work that also grows income: a regular schedule, content that keeps chat involved, and diversified revenue. Interactive segments like chat-voted tier lists and brackets help with engagement. Brand work does not wait for Partner either; see how to negotiate brand deals. FAQ

How long does the Twitch Partner review take?

Twitch says review typically takes up to 2 weeks, and longer when application volume is high. You are notified of the outcome by email.

Can I reapply after being rejected?

Yes. Twitch states a denial does not hurt future chances. Use the context in the rejection email, keep streaming, and reapply once you again meet the Path to Partner criteria.

Do I have to be a Twitch Affiliate before applying for Partner?

In practice, yes. Twitch describes Partner as the next step for Affiliates who meet further requirements, and its monetization page lists Affiliates as the group eligible to apply once they complete Path to Partner.

Does a Partner account count toward the 5 monetized account limit?

No. Twitch says Partner accounts do not count toward the maximum of 5 monetized accounts.

Do Partners get a better sub split than Affiliates?

Not automatically. Enhanced rates of 60/40 and 70/30 come through the Plus Program, which Affiliates and Partners qualify for on the same Plus Point thresholds.
